GVVV vs Koninklijke UD Deventer
GVVV Favored to Reverse Recent Result Against Koninklijke UD Deventer
VEENENDAAL, Netherlands (Interstat) — GVVV will look to overturn a recent defeat and capitalize on home advantage when it hosts Koninklijke UD Deventer in a Tweede Divisie match on Saturday.
The visitors won the earlier meeting this season, a 2-0 victory at home on Sept. 13. However, statistical models heavily favor GVVV to exact revenge at Sportpark Panhuis. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 win for the hosts, and its ELO rating system gives GVVV an 87.30% probability of victory.
Both teams are seeking consistency as the Dutch third-tier season progresses. GVVV (3-6-8) enters following a tough 2-1 road loss at VV Katwijk on Jan. 31. Its form has been mixed, with a 3-3 draw against De Treffers and a 5-0 loss at VV Rijnsburgse Boys preceding that. The team has shown attacking capability at home, netting three goals in wins over Kozakken Boys and VV Ijsselmeervogels in November.
Koninklijke UD Deventer (5-3-9) snapped a five-match winless streak last weekend with a 1-0 home victory over Excel Maassluis. Prior to that, the team struggled for results, with its last win before the Maassluis match coming on Jan. 17 against HSV Hoek. Its away form has been particularly challenging, with just one win in its last seven league matches on the road.
The matchup presents a contrast in recent trajectories. GVVV will aim to leverage its strong home support and statistical favoritism, while Koninklijke UD Deventer will rely on the confidence from its head-to-head victory earlier this season and its resilient defensive performance last time out.
Following this match, GVVV will host Barendrecht on Feb. 14. Koninklijke UD Deventer travels to face Jong Sparta on the same date.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. local time at Sportpark Panhuis in Veenendaal.
