Rouen vs Dijon
Preview: Rouen Hosts Dijon in Key National 1 Clash
ROUEN, France (Interstat) — Rouen and Dijon will meet Thursday in a French National 1 match with both sides seeking consistency in the final stretch of the season.
The game at Stade Robert Diochon is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. local (1830 GMT) kickoff.
The recent head-to-head record favors the visitors. In their last meeting on Jan. 24, the teams played to a 0-0 draw here in Rouen. However, Dijon secured a decisive 4-1 victory when they hosted Rouen last October. Their first matchup of the season last August ended 1-1.
Entering the contest, the teams have shown mixed form.
Rouen (10-8-9) is coming off a dramatic 3-2 home victory over Stade Briochin on March 13. That win snapped a three-game winless streak in the league that included losses to Fleury 91 and B-e-B Peronnas.
Dijon (9-10-8) arrives after a 2-2 draw at Saint-Etienne II on March 15. That result extended its current unbeaten run to three matches, following a 2-1 win over Aubagne and a 0-0 draw with Cosne USC Football. Prior to that run, Dijon had managed just one win in its previous seven league outings.
A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 1-1 draw.
The match is part of a congested schedule for both clubs. Rouen faces a quick turnaround, traveling to face Paris 13 Atletico on Friday. Dijon’s next match is at home against FC Versailles 78 on March 27.
National 1 is France’s third-tier football league.
