AFC Wimbledon vs Hfield Town

LONDON (Interstat) — AFC Wimbledon hosts Hfield Town on Saturday, May 2, in a League One clash at Plough Lane, with both sides seeking stability after erratic runs of form.
The match, scheduled for a 3 p.m. local kickoff, marks the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. Their previous encounter on Nov. 29 ended in a 3-3 draw at AFC Wimbledon’s home ground.
Hfield Town enters the fixture in a prolonged downturn. The visitors have managed just one win in their last 10 league matches, a stretch that includes six draws and three defeats. Their most recent result was a 4-1 loss at home to Mansfield Town on April 25. Before that, Hfield played to a 3-3 draw at Bolton Wanderers on April 18 and a 1-1 draw at Cardiff City on April 14. The club’s lone victory in that span came on April 6, a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient. Hfield’s record over the past two months also includes draws against Wycombe Wanderers (3-3 on April 11), Reading (1-1 on April 3) and Lincoln City (2-2 on March 17), as well as losses to Plymouth Argyle (3-1 on March 21) and Wigan Athletic (1-0 on Feb. 28), and a scoreless draw at Port Vale on March 14. Their last win before the Leyton Orient result was a 1-0 victory at Rotherham United on March 7.
AFC Wimbledon has also been inconsistent but arrives with momentum from a 1-0 victory at Wigan Athletic on April 25. That result snapped a three-match losing streak for the Dons, who had dropped consecutive decisions to Plymouth Argyle (3-1 on April 18), Stockport County (2-0 on April 15) and Burton Albion (1-0 on April 11). Earlier struggles included a 3-0 loss at Luton Town on April 6 and a 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City on April 3. Wimbledon’s season has featured notable highs, including a 4-1 win at Blackpool on March 11, but also low points such as a 3-0 loss at Stockport County on March 28. The Dons have drawn once in their last 10 — a 1-1 result at Peterborough United on March 21 — and have suffered eight defeats.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, reflecting the evenly matched nature of the sides. AFC Wimbledon will look to build on its road win, while Hfield Town aims to reverse a troubling trend that has seen it win only once in more than two months.
