Substitute Jørgensen’s Late Brace Lifts Blackburn Over Millwall
LONDON (Interstat) — Substitute Mathias Jørgensen scored twice in the final 10 minutes to rally Blackburn Rovers to a 2-1 victory over Millwall in the English Championship on Saturday at The Den.
Luke Cundle gave Millwall the lead in the 54th minute. The match turned when Millwall’s Zak Sturge received a red card in the 59th. Blackburn capitalized late, with Jørgensen equalizing in the 80th and netting the winner five minutes later, assisted by Tom Atcheson. Atcheson received a yellow card in stoppage time.
The result avenges Blackburn’s loss to Millwall in December. Millwall, near the top of the table, missed a chance to strengthen its position, while Blackburn improved its league record.
