YEREVAN, Armenia (Interstat) — League leader Alashkert hosts a struggling Van side on Friday in an Armenian Premier League match, looking to complete a season sweep after a narrow victory last month.

Alashkert (6-2-2) sits atop the table and is coming off a 2-1 road win against Shirak last Friday. The club has been strong at home in league play this season.

Van (2-5-2) is near the bottom of the standings but enters with momentum from a 2-1 home victory over Pyunik on Oct. 18, a result that snapped a four-game winless streak. That win, however, was a stark contrast to a 5-1 loss to the same Pyunik side just two weeks prior, highlighting the team’s inconsistency.

The previous head-to-head matchup on Sept. 29 saw Alashkert secure a 2-1 win on Van’s home pitch. Statistical models heavily favor a repeat performance. Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Alashkert 2, Van 1, and its ELO system gives the hosts an 87.40 percent probability to win.
