Bristol City vs Millwall

BRISTOL, England (Interstat) — Bristol City hosts Millwall in an English Championship match on Saturday, with both sides looking to build on positive results from the previous weekend.

The Robins edged Portsmouth 1-0 away last Saturday, solidifying a run of strong home form at Ashton Gate. Their previous home match on Nov. 22 was a 3-0 victory over Swansea City. Millwall arrives in strong spirits after a dramatic 3-2 home win over promotion-chasing Southampton last Saturday, their second straight victory following a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Recent form, however, has been inconsistent for both clubs. Millwall’s last five matches include two wins, two losses and a draw. Bristol City’s last five show two wins, two losses and a draw, including a 2-0 loss at Wrexham on Nov. 26.

A statistical projection by Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a 1-1 draw. The result could hinge on Bristol City’s defense at home against a Millwall attack that has scored three goals in each of its last two victories.

This is the first of a quick home-and-away series between the clubs; they will meet again at Millwall’s Den stadium on Monday, Dec. 29.

Up next, Bristol City hosts Leicester City on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Millwall travels to face Derby County the same day.
