AGADIR, Morocco (Dec. 29, 2025) (Interstat) — Angola and Egypt played to a scoreless draw Monday in their Africa Cup of Nations group stage opener at Grand Stade d’Agadir.

The match, organized by the Africa Cup of Nations, defied pre-game projections from Interstat, which had simulated a 3-0 Egypt victory and gave Angola a 57.4% win probability. Neither side could break through despite key contributions from substitutes. Angola forward Chico Banza and Egypt’s Yasser Ibrahim, both second-half entrants, provided assists on the game’s best chances.

The physical contest featured three yellow cards, issued to Egypt’s Ibrahim Adel in the 25th minute, Angola’s Banza in the 27th and Egypt’s Ibrahim in the 70th. Both teams open their tournament records at 0-0-1.
