FLENU, Belgium (Interstat) — Flenu defeated RUS Binche 1-0 in a Belgian Division 2 match Sunday at Complexe Sportif de Flénu.

The lone goal came from midfielder Samir Belasfar, who converted in the second half. The assist was credited to defender Mohan Lagneaux. The result avenged Flenu’s 2-1 loss to Binche in October.

The match was a physical affair, producing five yellow cards. Binche’s Lagneaux was booked in the 18th minute, setting the tone.

Flenu improved its Division 2 record to 17 wins, 7 losses and 5 draws, strengthening its position near the top of the table. RUS Binche’s record in the competition moved to 12 wins, 13 losses and 4 draws.

The outcome defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which had simulated a 2-1 Flenu victory and gave the hosts an 83% probability to win.
