PAMEKASAN, Indonesia (Interstat) — Substitute Bruno scored in the 73rd minute to give Persebaya Surabaya a 1-0 victory over Madura United in Indonesian Liga 1 play on Saturday.

The decisive goal came after Madura United defender Mendonça, who had earlier received a yellow card, was sent off with a red card in the 66th minute. Bruno, who also assisted on his own goal and received a yellow card, secured the three points for the visitors at Stadion Gelora Madura Ratu Pamelingan.

Persebaya Surabaya improved to 6-7-3 in league play. Madura United fell to 4-7-7. The result defied a pre-match projection that favored the hosts.
