Twente vs Go Ahead Eagles

Twente Hosts Go Ahead Eagles in Eredivisie Clash

ENSCHEDE, Netherlands (Interstat) — FC Twente looks to solidify its standing in the Eredivisie on Sunday when it hosts a Go Ahead Eagles side seeking to rebound from a midweek European defeat.

The match at De Grolsch Veste is scheduled for Dec. 14, 2025.

Twente (6-5-2) enters the contest after a 1-1 draw at FC Utrecht on Dec. 7. The Tukkers have been inconsistent lately, with a win, two draws and a loss in their last four domestic matches. Their home form has been a strength, however, featuring notable victories over AZ Alkmaar and Heracles Almelo earlier this season.

Go Ahead Eagles (5-4-5) arrives on short rest following a 2-1 home loss to France’s Olympique Lyonnais in a UEFA Europa Conference League match on Thursday, Dec. 11. Their league form has been uneven, with a dramatic 2-2 draw against AZ on Dec. 7 preceded by a three-match winless streak in Eredivisie play. A highlight of their season remains a 2-1 upset over Feyenoord in early November.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Twente is projected to win 2-1.

The Eagles will need to shore up a defense that has conceded multiple goals in five of their last six matches across all competitions. Twente, led by a productive attack, will look to exploit that vulnerability.

This match concludes a demanding period for Go Ahead Eagles, who have balanced European competition with their league schedule. Twente, focused solely on domestic play, aims to capitalize on any fatigue.

Following this match, Twente faces a difficult trip to league leaders Feyenoord on Dec. 21. Go Ahead Eagles will host FC Groningen on the same date.

Other upcoming fixtures for Go Ahead Eagles include a return to Europa League action against Nice in January. Twente’s schedule features a derby at Heracles Almelo on Jan. 18, 2026.

Sunday’s encounter is the first of the season between the two clubs, with the return fixture scheduled for later in the campaign.
