KHOR FAKKAN, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Sharjah and Khorfakkan played to a 3-3 draw in a UAE League Cup match Saturday at Saqr bin Mohammad al Qassimi Stadium.

The match defied a pregame projection that favored Sharjah. Ousmane Camara opened the scoring for the visitors in first-half stoppage time. Khorfakkan defender Marcus Vinicius equalized in the 67th minute, later receiving a yellow card.

The frantic contest featured eight total yellow cards, six shown to Sharjah. Both teams remain undefeated but winless early in the competition, each recording a draw in their League Cup opener. The result spoiled Sharjah’s status as a heavy statistical favorite to win.
