Express Sports Hosts Blacks Power in Crucial CAF Champions League Clash

KAMPALA, Uganda (Interstat) — Express Sports will look to solidify its continental position when it hosts struggling Blacks Power in a CAF Champions League Group Stage match Sunday.

The Week 15 fixture, organized under the UGA Premier League banner for the CAF Champions League in World, kicks off at 4 p.m. local time at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Express (6-3-5) enters with momentum from a hard-fought road draw, finishing 0-0 with NEC FC on Saturday. That result extended the Red Eagles’ unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions, including a 3-1 victory over Buhimba United Saints FC on Jan. 24.

Their form at home has been mixed this season, featuring high-scoring wins over Calvary and Mbarara City but also several shutout losses. Defense will be a focus after conceding three goals in their last meeting with a top rival, Vipers, in November.

Blacks Power (2-4-8) arrives reeling from a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at Vipers on March 19, 2025, in its last recorded match. That loss highlighted a season-long struggle for consistency, particularly on the road.

The visitors face a congested schedule, with a CAF Confederation Cup match at Onduparaka also slated for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, potentially straining squad resources.

Statistical models heavily favor the hosts. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for Express Sports. Furthermore, the organization’s ELO rating system gives Express an 88.20% probability of winning Sunday’s contest.

A win for Express would provide critical points in the tight CAF Champions League group standings as the tournament’s latter stages approach. For Blacks Power, the match is an opportunity to defy projections and secure a vital upset to revive its continental campaign.

Key Matchup: Express’s attacking momentum, netting seven goals in its last three competitive matches, against a Blacks Power defense that conceded three in its last outing.

Injury Report: Both clubs did not release injury reports ahead of the match.

Up Next: Following this match, Blacks Power continues its demanding double-header with the scheduled CAF Confederation Cup game. Express Sports’ next fixture was not immediately announced.
