TBILISI, Georgia (Interstat) — Spaeri will look to secure its first victory of the season across all competitions when it visits Merani Tbilisi on Saturday in a David Kipiani Cup group stage match.

The matchup, part of the Georgian domestic cup competition named for the late national team legend, pits a winless Spaeri side against a Merani Tbilisi team yet to record a result this season. Both clubs enter the cup fixture with 0-0 records in the tournament.

Spaeri’s campaign has been marked by a lack of goals, having been shut out in its two official matches. It is coming off a 0-0 draw with Meshakhte on Oct. 26. Its other result was a 2-0 loss to Austria Vienna in a European qualifier on July 24.

Merani Tbilisi has not played a competitive match in over six weeks, last falling 3-0 to Bakhmaro on Sept. 18.

Despite Spaeri’s struggles, statistical models favor the visitors. The Interstat game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Spaeri, while its ELO rating system gives Spaeri a 60.60 percent probability of winning.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at a venue in Tbilisi.
