TBILISI, Georgia (Interstat) — WIT Georgia overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat rival Lokomotivi Tbilisi 4-2 in extra time in a David Kipiani Cup match Saturday at Complexe Sportif FCL5.

Lokomotivi Tbilisi led 2-0 after a 24th-minute goal from Beka Dartsmelia. WIT Georgia’s comeback was powered by a brace from attacker Beka Gugberidze, who scored in the 68th and 94th minutes to force and then extend the lead in extra time. Aleksandre Andronikashvili also scored for Lokomotivi Tbilisi and received a yellow card. The result defied a pregame projection that gave Lokomotivi Tbilisi a slight edge to win.
