GRÖDIG, Austria (Interstat) — First Vienna earned a 3-1 road victory over Liefering in the Austrian 2. Liga on Sunday at Greisbergers Betten-Arena.

Nils Zatl opened the scoring for the visitors in the 22nd minute. Liefering’s Karim Konaté cut the deficit to 2-1 with a goal in the 80th minute, but First Vienna added a late insurance goal to secure the win. Konaté also received a yellow card in the 42nd minute.

The result improves First Vienna’s league record to seven wins, six losses and six draws. Liefering moves to five wins, five losses and seven draws. The outcome defied pre-match projections that heavily favored the home side.
