DIFFERDANGE, Luxembourg (Interstat) — Differdange 03 opened its National Division campaign with a wild 4-3 victory over Racing Luxembourg on Sunday at Stade Parc des Sports.

The match defied a pregame projection that heavily favored the hosts. Racing Luxembourg’s Cornelius Staver opened the scoring in the 46th minute, but Differdange 03 responded with a 36th-minute equalizer from Portuguese attacker Bertino João Cabral Barbosa.

The visitors then surged ahead with second-half goals from Emmanuel Françoise and Pit Simon. Differdange 03, reduced to 10 men after an 81st-minute red card to Guillaume Trani, mounted a late rally. Substitute Gonçalo Jorge Almeida da Silva sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal. The contest featured six yellow cards and one red.
