Differdange 03 vs Racing Union Luxembourg
DIFFERDANGE, Luxembourg (Interstat) — The Luxembourg National Division kicks off its 2026 domestic campaign Sunday with a southern derby as Differdange 03 hosts Racing Luxembourg at Stade Parc des Sports.
The Week 1 clash pits two clubs entering league play with vastly different recent form. Differdange 03 heads into the opener buoyed by a dominant 9-0 friendly victory over Ehlerange on Sept. 19. Their preseason, however, was a mixed bag focused heavily on European competition, where they were eliminated by Kosovo’s KF Drita in August.
Racing Luxembourg’s preparations have been erratic. They are coming off a staggering 7-0 win over Daring Echternach on Sept. 21. That result, however, is an outlier in a string of preseason friendlies where they lost six of seven matches, including a 3-1 defeat to domestic power F91 Diddeleng.
Statistical models heavily favor the hosts. Interstat’s ELO rating gives Differdange 03 a 73.6% probability of victory, with its match simulator projecting a 2-1 final score.
The game marks a return to domestic focus for both sides after extended preseason periods. For Racing, it is a chance to prove their explosive 7-0 victory signals a true turnaround. For Differdange, the objective is to translate their European experience into a strong start for the domestic title chase.
Looking beyond Sunday, Racing Luxembourg already has a notable date circled on its calendar: a trip to face Serbian side Cukaricki in the UEFA Europa Conference League on May 17, 2026.
Kickoff is set for Sunday afternoon at Differdange’s Stade Parc des Sports.
