ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay (Interstat) — Sportivo Ameliano delivered a surprising 2-1 road victory over Club Guarani in a Paraguayan Division Profesional match Wednesday at Estadio Rogelio Livieres.

Alejandro Samudio Ramírez powered the upset, scoring twice for the visitors. He opened the scoring in the 16th minute and added a second in the 52nd, assisted by Thomás Gutiérrez Serna. Aníbal Vega da Silva sealed the win with a late goal in the 87th minute.

The result defied pre-match projections that heavily favored the hosts. Club Guarani, which fell to 3-1 in league play, managed only a single goal in response. Sportivo Ameliano improved to 2-1. The match featured three yellow cards, including one for Ameliano’s Gutiérrez Serna.
