Preview: São Bento Hosts Noroeste in Copa Paulista Clash

MOJI DAS CRUZES, Brazil (Interstat) — Regional rivals São Bento and Noroeste will meet Wednesday in a Week 8 Copa Paulista match at Estádio Municipal Walter Ribeiro.

The matchup presents a contrast in recent form, though both sides are coming off high-scoring defeats. São Bento (0-0-0) enters after a staggering 10-9 loss to São José EC at home on Saturday. Noroeste (0-0-0) fell 3-0 on the road to União São João last Friday.

Despite São Bento’s defensive struggles in its last outing, statistical projections suggest a tight contest. The Interstat game simulator predicts a 1-1 draw. However, the organization’s ELO rating system slightly favors the visitor, giving Noroeste a 54% probability of securing a victory.

The Copa Paulista, a statewide competition for clubs not in Brazil’s national first division, continues its group stage with this fixture. The result could provide crucial momentum early in the tournament.

Kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday night. The venue, Estádio Municipal Walter Ribeiro, is located in the São Paulo municipality of Mogi das Cruzes.
