MERSIN (Interstat) — Alp Karahan scored 16 points and added three assists, while Arca Tuluoglu had 19 points and Mike Smith finished with 12 points and nine assists as Mersin stayed unbeaten with a 92-70 victory over Gaziantep on Thursday at Edip Buran Spor Salonu. Mersin improved to 5-0, while Gaziantep dropped to 3-2. The hosts led 19-15 after the first quarter and used a 28-point second quarter to take a 47-31 halftime lead. Gaziantep cut the deficit with a 26-point third quarter, but Mersin answered by outscoring the visitors 27-13 in the fourth. Samet Geyik led Gaziantep with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Sarp Coskun scored 18 points, and Smith Scoochie added 13 points and seven assists. Mehmet Alemdaroglu had five points and seven rebounds, and Emre Tanisan scored seven points. Kruize Pinkins contributed 15 points for Mersin, and Orhan Haciyeva grabbed six rebounds. Samet Geyik also had one assist and one block. Sarp Coskun had three rebounds.
