MERSIN (Interstat)—Mersin will put its unbeaten record on the line Thursday when it hosts Gaziantep at Edip Buran Spor Salonu in Mersin, Türkiye. Mersin is the home team. Gaziantep is the visiting team. Mersin is 4-0 this season. Gaziantep is 3-1.

Mersin’s most recent result was an 81-78 road win at iLab Basketbol. Kruize Pinkins recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one block. Dorukhan Engindeniz added 18 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Mike Smith had 16 points, four rebounds and seven assists.

Pinkins is the player to watch for Mersin. In the win at iLab Basketbol, he played 35 minutes and had a double-double. Earlier, he scored 33 points in 30 minutes with seven rebounds, two assists and one block against Konya BBSK. He also had 15 points, three rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes in a road win at Yeni Mamak.

Gaziantep enters after a 70-67 home win over Harem Spor. Smith Scoochie had 17 points, three rebounds and 12 assists in 36 minutes. Samet Geyik added 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block in 22 minutes, and Emre Tanisan finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes.

Scoochie is the player to watch for Gaziantep. He had 12 assists in the win over Harem Spor and also handed out 12 assists in an overtime win against Final Spor Genclik, where he added nine points and three rebounds. In a road win at CO Basket, he had eight points, five rebounds and four assists.

Gaziantep’s only loss this season came at Kecioren Baglum, 82-68. The team also has a road win at CO Basket, 84-62, and an overtime home win over Final Spor Genclik, 91-89. Gaziantep’s three wins have come against Harem Spor, CO Basket and Final Spor Genclik. Mersin has opened with wins over iLab Basketbol, Konya BBSK, Yeni Mamak and Baskent Ankara. Mersin beat Konya BBSK 87-82 at home and posted 100-70 road wins at Yeni Mamak and Baskent Ankara. Mersin has scored at least 81 points in every game this season. Gaziantep has scored at least 68 points in each of its four games.
