TBILISI (Interstat) — Detrek Browning scored 36 points as Kutaisi defeated VSA 92-78 on Wednesday, April 29, in Georgian Super Liga play. Kutaisi jumped to a 34-16 lead after the first quarter and never trailed. Browning added three rebounds and three assists. Javion Ogunyemi contributed eight points and 12 rebounds for Kutaisi, which outrebounded VSA 44-22 and held a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Marqus Gilson had eight points and 13 rebounds, while Kakha Jincharadze scored 14 points. Anzori Nadiradze led VSA with 19 points. Tyson Jackson added 11 points and six rebounds for VSA, which shot 29 of 68 from the field. Kutaisi shot 33 of 62, including 10 of 26 from 3-point range, and made 16 of 19 free throws. The win was Kutaisi’s fourth straight over VSA, including an 88-80 victory Sunday and a 96-79 win Friday. Kutaisi improved to 19-12, while VSA fell to 10-13.
