GRAMBLING, La. (Interstat) — Alcorn State will visit Grambling on Saturday for an NCAA Football Championship Division game at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium in Grambling, La. Alcorn State will be the visiting team, and Grambling will be the home team. The Braves bring a 3-2 record into the matchup. The Tigers are 2-2.

Alcorn State is coming off a 43-40 home win over Texas Southern. Quarterback Jaylon Tolbert is the player to watch for the Braves. In that victory, he completed 26 of 41 passes for 332 yards, rushed 12 times for 79 yards and accounted for two touchdowns. Omarion Blakes added three receptions for 36 yards and one tackle. Fredrick Robertson rushed 29 times for 105 yards, caught five passes for 70 yards and scored four total touchdowns, including three rushing and one receiving. Tolbert completed 22 of 44 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown and ran eight times for 1 yard in a loss at North Alabama. Earlier, he completed 15 of 22 passes for 119 yards and ran three times for 12 yards in a loss at Southern Mississippi. The Braves’ other results this season include a 38-20 loss at North Alabama, a 53-51 overtime win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, a 49-3 loss at Southern Mississippi and a 56-7 win over Miles College.

Grambling is coming off a 21-14 win at Prairie View. Ashton Frye is a player to watch for the Tigers. In his most recent listed performance, Frye completed 1 of 3 passes for 50 yards, rushed four times for 11 yards and scored a touchdown. Jacobe Robinson completed 9 of 18 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Patrick Williams II completed 1 of 1 pass for 17 yards and caught one pass for 17 yards. Grambling has also faced Texas Christian, Central State (Ohio) and Clark Atlanta this season.

Alcorn State and Grambling will meet at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium. Alcorn State next hosts Arkansas Baptist, then visits Prairie View, Mississippi Valley State and Southern and hosts Florida A&M and Jackson State. Grambling next hosts Jackson State, then visits Alabama A&M, Texas Southern, Bethune-Cookman and Southern and hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Braves and Tigers are set to play on Saturday.
