Indiana Completes Perfect Season With Dominant Rose Bowl Victory Over Alabama

PASADENA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Indiana Hoosiers capped a perfect season with a commanding 38-3 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in a New Year’s Day matchup at the Rose Bowl on Thursday.

Before an announced crowd of 90,278, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza led the charge, completing 14 of 16 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns. His scoring strikes to Charlie Becker, Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt helped the Hoosiers pull away after a slow start.

Alabama’s offense, using two quarterbacks, was stifled throughout. The Crimson Tide managed only a 28-yard Conor Talty field goal in the third quarter. Indiana’s defense recorded three sacks and consistently pressured Alabama, while its rushing attack added two fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the win.

The victory clinched a 14-0 season for Indiana. Alabama finished its season at 11-4.
