Florida State at Florida
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) — Two rivals seeking to salvage disappointing seasons will meet Saturday when the Florida State Seminoles visit the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Florida State (5-6) saw its hopes for bowl eligibility diminish with a 21-11 loss at North Carolina State last Friday. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos accounted for 279 total yards in the defeat, but the Seminoles’ offense stalled in the red zone. The loss was the fourth in the last six games for Florida State, which opened the season with a statement 31-17 win over Alabama but has struggled for consistency since.
The host Florida Gators (3-8) have lost four straight, most recently a 31-11 home defeat to Tennessee last Saturday. Freshman quarterback DJ Lagway threw for 116 yards and a touchdown and added 40 yards on the ground in the loss. Running back Jadan Baugh was a bright spot, rushing for 96 yards and a score.
Despite Florida State having the better record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a close 27-24 victory for the home-standing Gators. The Seminoles have been installed as a slight pregame favorite with a spread of +1.5, and the over/under is set at 48.5 points.
The annual rivalry game, set for November 29, 2025, will be the regular-season finale for both teams. Florida State will look to secure its sixth win to become bowl eligible, while Florida will aim to end its losing streak and play spoiler in front of its home crowd.
