Old Dominion at Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. (Interstat) — A surging Old Dominion team riding a four-game winning streak will face a resurgent Georgia Southern squad in a key Sun Belt Conference matchup on Saturday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.

The Monarchs (7-3) are coming off a dominant 33-0 shutout of Troy on Nov. 13, a victory powered by a dynamic rushing attack. Quarterback Colton Joseph and running back Devin Roche combined for 235 yards on the ground in that win, highlighting an offense that has averaged 38 points during its current streak.

The Eagles (5-5), meanwhile, are looking to secure bowl eligibility after a 45-40 shootout win over Coastal Carolina on Nov. 15. Running back OJ Arnold was spectacular in the victory, amassing 340 all-purpose yards and scoring four total touchdowns.

Despite Old Dominion’s superior record, Georgia Southern has been installed as an 11.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 62.5 points, and a projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair with the Eagles winning 42-38.

The game features a clash of styles, with Old Dominion’s recent defensive prowess — two shutouts in its last four games — being tested by a potent Georgia Southern offense that has topped 40 points in three of its last four outings.
