Brown at Columbia

NEW YORK (Interstat) — Two Ivy League teams looking to end losing streaks will meet Saturday when the Brown Bears visit the Columbia Lions at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium.

Brown (3-5) enters the contest on a three-game skid following a 34-22 home loss to Yale last Saturday. Quarterback James Murphy threw for 366 yards in the defeat. The Bears’ offense has shown flashes, but their defense has struggled during the losing streak, allowing an average of 32.6 points per game to Yale, Penn and Cornell.

Columbia (1-7) has lost five straight since its lone win over Georgetown on Sept. 27. The Lions fell to Harvard 31-14 in their last outing. Quarterback Chase Goodwin accounted for two touchdowns in the loss, but the offense has been inconsistent, failing to score more than 14 points in four of their last five games.

Despite the records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a close contest, favoring the Lions 24-21. Both teams will be searching for a positive result before concluding their seasons next week, with Brown hosting Dartmouth and Columbia traveling to Cornell.
