Weber State at Idaho State
POCATELLO, Idaho (Interstat) — Two teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Idaho State Bengals host the Weber State Wildcats in a Big Sky Conference matchup at the ICCU Dome.
Idaho State (4-6) enters on a two-game winning streak, including a 27-17 home victory over Cal Poly last Saturday. The Bengals’ offense has found its rhythm, averaging 32 points during the streak.
Conversely, Weber State (3-7) is mired in a three-game skid, coming off a 66-14 road loss to Montana State. The Wildcats’ defense has been a primary concern, surrendering an average of 49 points in those three defeats.
The game features a clash of offensive styles. Idaho State’s ground game, led by running back Dason Brooks who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown last week, will test a Weber State run defense that has struggled. The Wildcats will look to running back Spencer Ferguson, who ran for 88 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Montana State, to control the clock and keep the Bengals’ offense off the field.
Despite the records, the Interstat game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring Weber State 41-37. The Wildcats will look to salvage pride on the road, while the Bengals aim to extend their winning streak and build momentum heading into their season finale at Idaho on Nov. 22. Weber State closes its season at home against Northern Arizona on the same date.
