Michigan at Northwestern
CHICAGO (Interstat) — A pivotal Big Ten matchup with postseason implications is set for the historic confines of Wrigley Field on Saturday as the Northwestern Wildcats host the Michigan Wolverines.
The Wolverines (7-2) enter the contest riding a four-game winning streak, most recently grinding out a 21-16 victory over Purdue on Nov. 1. Their offense has been powered by a dominant rushing attack, led by running back Jordan Marshall, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Northwestern (5-4) looks to rebound after a 38-17 road loss to Southern California on Nov. 7. The Wildcats have shown resilience this season, including an upset win at Penn State on Oct. 11, but have dropped two of their last three contests. Their offense will rely on quarterback Preston Stone and running back Caleb Komolafe.
Despite Michigan’s superior record and recent form, oddsmakers have installed Northwestern as an 11.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 41.5. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a 34-19 victory for the Wolverines.
The game is a home contest for Northwestern but will be played at the iconic Chicago ballpark, adding a unique backdrop to the conference clash. Both teams are looking to improve their standing with two games remaining in the regular season after this contest.
