New Hampshire at Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Interstat) — A surging Monmouth squad, boasting one of the nation’s top records, will host a resurgent New Hampshire team in a pivotal non-conference matchup Saturday at Kessler Stadium.

The Hawks (8-1) return from a bye week riding a five-game winning streak, including a dominant 35-7 road victory over Bryant on Nov. 1. Quarterback Frankie Weaver has been efficient, completing 14 of 19 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns in that win.

They will face a Wildcats team (5-4) that has found its footing after a three-game skid in October. New Hampshire is coming off a 34-24 home win over William & Mary on Oct. 25, powered by a dynamic offensive performance. Quarterback Matt Vezza accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for 280 yards and rushing for 99, while running back Myles Thomason added 130 rushing yards and a score.

The game features a stark contrast in season trajectories. Monmouth’s lone loss came on the road against FBS opponent Charlotte, and their offense has consistently put up big points. New Hampshire has battled inconsistency but appears to be peaking, winning two of its last three games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects as a high-scoring affair, with Monmouth favored to win 42-35.

Following this game, Monmouth will travel to face North Carolina A&T on Nov. 15, while New Hampshire will host Bryant on the same date.
