Stetson at Marist
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when the Stetson Hatters visit the Marist Red Foxes at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field.
Both teams enter the Nov. 8 contest with identical 3-6 records. The game is a Pioneer Football League matchup for the Hatters, while Marist competes in the non-scholarship FCS subdivision.
Stetson is reeling from a 52-10 home loss to Saint Thomas (Minn.) on Oct. 25. The Hatters used three quarterbacks in the defeat, with Gavin Rupp, Chris Stephenson and Gunner Chenier all seeing action. Stetson’s three wins this season have come against Morehead State, Davidson and Warner.
Marist is coming off a 45-0 road loss to the same Saint Thomas (Minn.) team last Saturday. Quarterback Will O’Dell passed for 101 yards in the loss, while running back Carter James provided a bright spot with 53 rushing yards on just seven carries. The Red Foxes’ victories have come against San Diego, Wagner and New Haven.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Marist is projected to win with a final score of 42-27.
The game will be the final home contest of the season for the Red Foxes. Stetson will travel to Valparaiso next week, while Marist will host Davidson.
