Central Arkansas at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Austin Peay Governors host the Central Arkansas Bears at Fortera Stadium.

Austin Peay (5-4) looks to snap a two-game skid and regain its footing after a 33-17 road loss to Southern Utah last Saturday. The Governors’ offense, led by dual-threat quarterback Chris Parson, will be key. Parson accounted for two touchdowns and 244 total yards in the loss.

Central Arkansas (3-6) arrives reeling from a 34-13 home defeat to Eastern Kentucky, its fourth loss in five games. The Bears will lean on running back Landen Chambers, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort, and a passing attack that found some success with receiver Tyrell Pollard.

Despite their records, a high-scoring affair is projected. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a 42-37 victory for the visiting Bears.

Austin Peay holds a distinct home-field advantage, having won three of its four games in Clarksville this season. Central Arkansas is 1-4 on the road. A win would move the Governors a step closer to a winning season, while the Bears are fighting to salvage theirs.
