Weber State at Montana State

BOZEMAN, Mont. (Interstat) — The Montana State Bobcats delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, November 8, 2025, overwhelming the Weber State Wildcats 66-14 in a lopsided Big Sky Conference matchup at Bobcat Stadium.

The game was effectively decided by halftime as the Bobcats built a commanding 31-7 lead, showcasing a relentless offensive attack and a stifling defense that forced key turnovers. The victory improved Montana State’s record to 8-2 overall, while Weber State fell to 3-7.

Montana State quarterback Justin Lamson of El Dorado Hills, California, orchestrated the offensive onslaught, accounting for four touchdowns. Lamson completed 12 of 16 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns while adding 31 yards and two more scores on the ground.

The Bobcats set the tone early, with Lamson capping their first sustained drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. After a quick defensive stop, running back Julius Davis of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, broke the game open with a spectacular 52-yard touchdown dash, tying the score at 14-14 late in the first quarter. Davis finished with 114 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries.

The second quarter belonged entirely to Montana State. Adam Jones punched in a 2-yard touchdown run, and shortly after, Lamson connected with tight end Rocky Lencioni of Bozeman for a 4-yard scoring pass. The Bobcats’ defense contributed significantly, with Caden Dowler of Billings intercepting a Weber State pass and returning it 54 yards to set up Lencioni’s score. Myles Sansted of Alexandria, Minnesota, added a 48-yard field goal as time expired in the half to extend the lead to 24 points.

Any hope of a Weber State comeback was extinguished in the third quarter as Montana State poured on 21 more points. Lamson found Ryan King of Loganville, Georgia, for a 9-yard touchdown, Davis added his second rushing touchdown, and Lamson scored again on a 12-yard run.

The Bobcats’ reserves continued the scoring in the final period. Backup quarterback Patrick Duchien of Florence, Montana, hit Jordan Reed of El Centro, California, on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Later, another reserve quarterback, Chance Wilson of Owasso, Oklahoma, sealed the 66-point outing with a 15-yard touchdown run.

Weber State’s offense struggled to find consistency against a swarming Montana State defense. The Wildcats’ two scores came on the ground, with Spencer Ferguson of Kaysville, Utah, scoring from 4 yards out just before halftime and quarterback Dijon Jennings of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, connecting with Mason York of Huntington Beach, California, on a 5-yard pass in the fourth quarter. Ferguson was a bright spot for Weber State, rushing for 88 yards on 22 carries.

The Bobcats’ defensive unit was disruptive throughout, recording two interceptions and multiple sacks. The performance far exceeded the projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 42-28 Montana State victory. The Bobcats’ ELO system had given them a 98.10 percent probability to win.

Montana State will look to continue its winning ways next Saturday when it hosts UC Davis. Weber State will try to regroup on the road at Idaho State.
