Florida International at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when the Florida International Golden Panthers face the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium.

Both programs enter the contest on losing streaks. Florida International (3-5) has dropped its last two games, including a 28-21 midweek loss at Missouri State on Oct. 29. The Golden Panthers used multiple quarterbacks in that contest, with Keyone Jenkins and Joe Pesansky combining for three touchdown passes.

Middle Tennessee (1-7) is also seeking to rebound from a narrow home defeat, having fallen 24-21 to Jacksonville State on Oct. 29. Blue Raiders quarterback Nicholas Vattiato threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Despite its worse overall record, Middle Tennessee is a slight home favorite. The Interstat game simulator projects a 42-30 victory for the Blue Raiders. The over/under is set at 51.5 points.

The game represents a chance for either team to build momentum before a tough closing stretch. Florida International hosts Liberty next, while Middle Tennessee travels to face Western Kentucky.
