Louisiana Tech at Delaware
NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — A pair of teams seeking to secure bowl eligibility will meet Saturday when the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs visit the Delaware Blue Hens at Delaware Stadium.
Louisiana Tech (5-3) enters the contest riding high after a dominant 55-14 victory over Sam Houston last Friday. The Bulldogs’ offense was explosive, with quarterback Blake Baker accounting for two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, while accumulating 263 total yards. The win snapped a two-game skid for the Bulldogs, who had suffered narrow losses to Western Kentucky and Kennesaw State in October.
Delaware (4-4) looks to rebound from a 59-30 road loss to Liberty last Saturday. Despite the lopsided score, Blue Hens quarterback Nick Minicucci put up strong numbers, throwing for 344 yards and two touchdowns while adding 37 yards rushing. Delaware’s season has been a series of streaks, with the team unable to string together consecutive wins since starting the year 2-0.
Despite Delaware’s .500 record, oddsmakers have installed the Blue Hens as a 6.5-point favorite at home. The over/under is set at 56.5 points. However, Interstat’s game simulator projects a closer contest, forecasting a 28-22 victory for the visiting Bulldogs.
The game could hinge on which version of each team shows up. Louisiana Tech will try to carry its recent offensive momentum on the road, while Delaware will aim to leverage its home-field advantage to get back to .500 and keep its postseason hopes firmly alive.
