CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — North Carolina built a 10-point fourth-quarter lead and withstood a late Stanford rally to earn a 20-15 victory on Saturday at Kenan Stadium. The Tar Heels improved to 4-5, while the Cardinal fell to 3-7.
Gio Lopez threw two touchdown passes for North Carolina, including a 55-yard strike to Jordan Shipp in the fourth quarter. Stanford quarterback Elijah Brown passed for 284 yards and a late score, but the Cardinal’s comeback attempt fell short.
