Stanford at North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when Stanford travels to face North Carolina at Kenan Stadium.

Both the Cardinal (3-6) and Tar Heels (3-5) enter the contest on the heels of divergent results. Stanford is looking to rebound from a 35-20 home loss to Pittsburgh last Saturday, a game in which quarterbacks Ben Gulbranson and Elijah Brown combined for 336 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

North Carolina, meanwhile, is riding momentum from a 27-10 road victory over Syracuse last Friday. The Tar Heels’ offense was powered by quarterback Gio Lopez, who threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns while adding 33 yards on the ground, and running back Demon June, who rushed for 101 yards and a score while also catching a touchdown pass.

Despite the Tar Heels’ recent success and home-field advantage, betting markets have installed Stanford as a 7.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 43.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a North Carolina victory with a final score of 32-24.

The game will be the first meeting between the programs since 2021. Stanford’s last win came on Oct. 18, a 20-13 upset over then-Florida State. North Carolina will look to build on its first road win of the season and secure back-to-back victories for the first time this fall.
