Maryland at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt losing streaks will meet when Maryland visits Rutgers on Saturday at SHI Stadium.

The Terrapins (4-4) and Scarlet Knights (4-5) are both coming off lopsided conference losses. Maryland was routed 55-10 by Indiana last Saturday, a game in which quarterback Malik Washington threw for 242 yards and rushed for a touchdown. Rutgers fell 35-13 at Illinois, with quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis throwing for 253 yards and a score.

Despite Maryland’s .500 record, it has been installed as a slight 2.5-point favorite on the road. The over/under is set at 56.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a close Rutgers victory, 28-24.

The game represents a critical juncture for both programs as they seek bowl eligibility. Maryland has lost three straight after a 4-1 start, with each loss by 10 points or fewer before the blowout against Indiana. Rutgers has dropped two consecutive games and four of its last five after a 3-1 start.

The Terrapins’ offense, led by Washington, will look to rebound against a Rutgers defense that allowed 35 points to Illinois. The Scarlet Knights will counter with Kaliakmanis, who will aim to exploit a Maryland defense that surrendered 55 points in its last outing.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
