Tarleton State at Abilene Christian

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Interstat) — The undefeated Tarleton State Texans put their perfect record on the line against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday at Wildcat Stadium.

Tarleton State (9-0) enters the contest riding high after a dominant 31-7 road victory over Eastern Kentucky last Saturday. The Texans’ offense has been a juggernaut, averaging over 46 points per game, and features a potent quarterback rotation of Victor Gabalis, Daniel Greek and James Paige, who combined for four rushing touchdowns in the latest win. The Texans’ resume includes a season-opening 30-27 win at Army and a 56-10 rout of Central Arkansas.

Abilene Christian (4-4) looks to play spoiler and get back to .500 after a 31-24 loss to Southern Utah on Oct. 18. The Wildcats are led by quarterback Stone Earle, who passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in that contest, and running back Jordon Vaughn, who rushed for 124 yards.

The Wildcats have shown flashes, including a 52-point outburst against North Alabama, but have struggled against tougher competition, falling to FBS program TCU and Incarnate Word.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final score of Tarleton State 42, Abilene Christian 36.
