UCF at Baylor

WACO, Texas (Interstat) — A pair of teams jockeying for bowl positioning will meet Saturday when the UCF Knights visit the Baylor Bears at McLane Stadium.

Both teams enter the Nov. 1 contest with 4-4 records, making this a pivotal matchup in the second half of the season. Despite the identical overall record, UCF (4-3) has been installed as a 3.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 60.5 points.

The Knights are riding high after a dominant 45-13 victory over West Virginia on Oct. 18. Quarterback Tayven Jackson led the charge, completing 23 of 34 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns in the win. UCF’s offense has shown explosiveness, including a 68-point outing in September, but has also been held to 20 points or fewer in three of its four losses.

Baylor is looking to rebound from a 41-20 road loss to Cincinnati on Oct. 25. Quarterback Sawyer Robertson threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns in that contest, while running back Michael Turner added 90 rushing yards. The Bears’ season has been a rollercoaster, featuring a dramatic 48-45 double-overtime win over SMU but also a 38-24 season-opening loss to Auburn.

According to a projection from Interstat, this game is expected to be a nail-biter, with a final score of Baylor 35, UCF 34. The result could hinge on which team’s offense finds more consistency against defenses that have shown vulnerability.
