Lincoln (CA) at Prairie View
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Interstat) — The Prairie View A&M Panthers delivered a dominant, wire-to-wire performance on Saturday, October 25, 2025, overwhelming the visiting Lincoln (CA) squad in a 38-0 shutout at a rain-soaked Panther Stadium.
From the opening kickoff, the Panthers established control, unleashing a 24-point first-quarter offensive explosion from which Lincoln never recovered. The victory improved Prairie View’s season record to 4-2, while Lincoln continued to struggle, falling to 0-4.
The tone was set immediately. Prairie View’s offense, operating with a no-huddle tempo, marched down the field on the game’s opening possession. The drive was capped by running back Chase Bingmon, who powered into the end zone on a 1-yard run up the middle. Kicker Aiden Webb’s successful point-after attempt made the score 7-0 with 11:43 remaining in the first quarter.
The ensuing kickoff proved disastrous for Lincoln. Returner S. Maldonado fumbled the catch, and the loose ball was pounced on by Prairie View safety Sterling Roberts at the Lincoln 16-yard line. The Panther defense then made a rare appearance on offense, with cornerback Kamren Amao taking a direct snap for a 5-yard run. A few plays later, quarterback Cameron Peters connected with tight end Travon Jones on a 5-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 14-0 just over two minutes after the first score.
Lincoln’s offensive woes were a constant theme. Their first possession resulted in a three-and-out, and Prairie View promptly embarked on another scoring drive. A key 28-yard deep pass from Peters to receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell set the Panthers up in Lincoln territory. The drive eventually stalled, but Webb was true on a 30-yard field goal, pushing the advantage to 17-0.
The first-quarter onslaught concluded with another methodical Prairie View drive. Peters found receiver Chaney Fitzgerald for a 38-yard gain, and Bingmon finished the series with his second touchdown of the day, a 17-yard burst through the middle. Webb’s extra point concluded the quarter’s scoring at 24-0.
The second quarter was a defensive stalemate, with Lincoln unable to mount any significant threat against a swarming Panther defense led by safeties Trinity Ward and Ashton Ojiaku, who contributed a key 11-yard kickoff return.
Any hope of a Lincoln comeback was extinguished early in the third quarter. After a fumble recovery by Ward, the Panthers’ offense went back to work. Peters, demonstrating his dual-threat capability, capped the drive by scrambling for a 19-yard touchdown run, making the score 31-0.
The final blow came in the fourth quarter. Peters, operating from his own territory, dropped back and launched a deep pass to Rockwell, who caught the ball in stride and raced for a 70-yard touchdown reception. Webb’s extra point provided the final margin of 38-0.
Peters, a 6-foot-4, 207-pound quarterback from Missouri City, Texas, was the catalyst for the Panther offense. He finished an efficient 11 of 18 passing for 243 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 23 rushing yards and another score on the ground.
His favorite target was Jyzaiah Rockwell, who hauled in three passes for 104 yards and the spectacular 70-yard touchdown. Andre Dennis was also a reliable weapon, catching four passes for 72 yards.
The Panthers’ ground game was a multi-headed monster. Lamagea McDowell led the team with 47 yards on seven carries, while Chase Bingmon contributed 42 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Shadrick Byrd added a powerful 36 yards on just four carries in the fourth quarter.
For Lincoln, the offense never found its footing. Quarterback J. Carney III was under constant pressure and was sacked multiple times. The team’s deepest penetration into Prairie View territory came in the third quarter, but that drive ended with a fumble that was recovered by the Panthers.
The shutout victory provides significant momentum for Prairie View A&M as they look ahead to the heart of their Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule. Their next test is at home against Alabama State on Saturday, November 1. Lincoln will continue its search for its first win of the season.
