Oregon Looks to Rebound Against Rutgers After First Loss

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Interstat) — The Oregon Ducks look to get back on track Saturday when they visit SHI Stadium for a non-conference matchup with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Oregon (5-0) saw its perfect start to the season end with a surprising 30-20 home loss to Indiana last Saturday. Quarterback Dante Moore completed 21 of 34 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown in the defeat, while the running back duo of Jordon Davison and Noah Whittington combined for 86 rushing yards.

Prior to the loss, the Ducks’ offense had been dominant, averaging over 46 points per game in wins over Penn State, Oregon State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Montana State.

Rutgers (3-3) is also coming off a loss, falling 38-19 on the road to Washington last Friday. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis threw for 386 yards and two touchdowns in the game, and running back Antwan Raymond totaled 178 all-purpose yards and a score.

Despite Oregon’s higher ranking and superior record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow 30-29 victory for Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have been installed as a 17.5-point pregame favorite by oddsmakers, with an over/under of 60.5 points.

The game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. EDT kickoff on Saturday, October 18.
