HOUSTON (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to reverse their fortunes will meet Saturday when the Northwestern State Demons face the Houston Christian Huskies at Husky Stadium.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with identical 1-4 records. The Demons are looking to rebound from a 40-10 home loss to Texas A&M-Commerce on Oct. 4. Their lone victory this season was a 20-10 win over Alcorn State on Aug. 28.

The Huskies are also coming off a loss, falling 27-7 to UT Rio Grande Valley last Saturday. Houston Christian’s offense showed flashes in the defeat, with quarterback Eddie Lee Marburger accounting for three touchdowns. Marburger passed for 131 yards and a score while also rushing for 105 yards and another touchdown. Running back Xai’Shaun Edwards added 101 rushing yards. The Huskies’ only win was a 69-0 rout of Arkansas Baptist to open the season.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects to be a high-scoring affair, with a predicted final score of Houston Christian 40, Northwestern State 33.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, in Houston.
