Western Illinois at Tennessee-Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to reverse their fortunes will meet Saturday when the Western Illinois Leathernecks visit the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks at Hardy M. Graham Stadium.

Both programs enter the contest with identical 1-5 records, each having secured their lone victory in late September. The game represents a critical opportunity for either squad to build momentum in the back half of the season.

Western Illinois is looking to rebound from a 66-20 road loss to Tennessee Tech last Saturday. In that defeat, quarterback Cason Carswell put up strong individual numbers, completing 34 of 48 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns. However, the Leathernecks’ defense has struggled, allowing an average of over 48 points per game in their five losses.

Tennessee-Martin is also coming off a loss, falling 30-14 to Lindenwood. The Skyhawks’ offense has shown flashes, most notably in a 34-10 win over Southeast Missouri State on Sept. 27, but has been inconsistent. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Tennessee-Martin is projected to win with a final score of 42-28.

The matchup will feature two teams desperate to climb out of the cellar and find a winning formula as they navigate the bulk of their conference schedules. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
