MURRAY, Ky. (Interstat) — The Illinois State Redbirds look to get back on track when they visit the struggling Murray State Racers on Saturday at Roy Stewart Stadium.

Illinois State (3-2) is coming off a 33-16 home loss to North Dakota State. Quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse passed for 191 yards and a touchdown and added 15 yards on the ground in the defeat. The Redbirds’ ground game, led by Victor Dawson and Wenkers Wright, has been a consistent strength.

They face a Murray State team (0-5) seeking its first win after a 49-24 loss at South Dakota. Racers quarterback Jim Ogle passed for 183 yards and a touchdown in that contest.

Despite the disparity in records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested matchup with a final score of Illinois State 37, Murray State 36. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
