North Carolina Central at Florida A&M
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging North Carolina Central team will look to continue its high-scoring ways when it visits a struggling Florida A&M squad at Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Eagles (4-2) enter the contest riding a three-game winning streak, having averaged 53.7 points per game in that span. Their most recent outing was a 50-42 shootout victory at Texas A&M-Commerce on Sept. 27. The offense has been potent, with quarterbacks Ron Peace, Walker Harris and Eric Rodriguez all contributing to the attack.
Conversely, the Rattlers (1-3) are seeking to regain their footing after a 42-14 home loss to Alabama State in their last game. Quarterback RJ Johnson III and running backs Thad Franklin Jr. and Vershod Quinn have shown flashes of production for a Florida A&M team whose lone win came against Albany State on Sept. 13.
The game projects to be a close affair. According to the Interstat game simulator, the Eagles are a narrow favorite in a projected 35-33 final score.
Saturday’s matchup will be a conference opener for both teams. North Carolina Central will look to leverage its offensive momentum against a Rattlers defense that has allowed an average of 38.5 points in its three losses this season.
