Sacramento State at Weber State

SOUTH OGDEN, Utah (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to right their seasons will meet when Sacramento State visits Weber State on Saturday at Stewart Stadium.

Both the Hornets (2-3) and Wildcats (2-3) are coming off losses and enter the contest with identical records.

Sacramento State is looking to rebound from a 32-24 home loss to Cal Poly on Sept. 27. The Hornets’ offense showed flashes, with quarterback Cardell Williams accounting for two touchdowns and running back Rodney Hammond Jr. rushing for 105 yards and a score. The team has been inconsistent, sandwiching blowout wins over Central Arkansas and Mercyhurst between narrow losses to Nevada and the recent defeat to Cal Poly.

Weber State also fell in its last outing, dropping a 34-12 decision at UC Davis. The Wildcats’ offense leaned on quarterback Jackson Gilkey, who passed for 138 yards and rushed for 57, and running back Davion Godley, who had 60 rushing yards. Their two wins this season came in high-scoring affairs against Butler and McNeese State.

A high-scoring game is projected, with Interstat’s simulator predicting a 42-38 victory for the Wildcats. The matchup could hinge on which team’s offense finds a more consistent rhythm and which defense can muster a critical stop.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
