New Mexico at Boise State
BOISE, Idaho (Interstat) — A pivotal Mountain West Conference matchup is on tap Saturday at Albertsons Stadium as the Boise State Broncos host the New Mexico Lobos, with both teams entering at 3-2 and looking to build momentum for the second half of the season.
The visiting Lobos are coming off a 35-28 road loss to San Jose State last Friday, where quarterback Jack Layne threw for 344 yards and a touchdown. The ground game, led by Damon Bankston and D.J. McKinney, provides a balanced offensive attack. New Mexico’s other losses this season came against then-Michigan and San Jose State, while its wins include a dominant 35-10 road victory at UCLA.
Boise State is looking to rebound at home after a 28-7 loss at Notre Dame. Quarterback Maddux Madsen accounted for the Broncos’ lone touchdown in South Bend. The Broncos have been formidable on their signature blue turf this season, outscoring opponents Appalachian State and Eastern Washington by a combined 98-28 in two home games.
Despite both teams having identical records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a 42-23 victory for the Broncos. However, oddsmakers list New Mexico as a 15.5-point underdog with an over/under of 58.5 points.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. MDT on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
