North Carolina State at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Interstat) — A surging Notre Dame looks to build on its momentum when it hosts North Carolina State on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium.

The Fighting Irish (3-2) are coming off a decisive 28-7 victory over Boise State, where quarterback CJ Carr threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns, and the rushing attack, led by Jeremiyah Love’s 103 yards, was potent. The win provided a needed boost after a narrow 41-40 home loss to Texas A&M in September.

The Wolfpack (4-2) arrive after a 56-10 rout of Campbell, a game in which quarterback CJ Bailey was nearly perfect, completing 20 of 23 passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns. Despite the lopsided win, N.C. State has shown inconsistency, suffering a 23-21 loss to Virginia Tech and a 45-33 defeat at Duke in recent weeks.

Despite N.C. State holding the better record, oddsmakers have installed Notre Dame as a heavy favorite. The Wolfpack are 22.5-point underdogs, and the over/under is set at 59.5. A projection from Interstat forecasts a 33-19 victory for the Fighting Irish.

The game will be a test of N.C. State’s ability to compete against a Power Five opponent on the road following their dominant performance against an FCS foe. For Notre Dame, it’s a chance to solidify its form before a pivotal matchup with Southern California the following week.
