Indiana at Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. (Interstat) — A clash of unbeatens is set for Autzen Stadium on Saturday as the Oregon Ducks host the Indiana Hoosiers in a nonconference showdown.

Both teams enter with 5-0 records, but have built them in contrasting fashion. Indiana, despite being a 6.5-point underdog according to Interstat, has relied on a gritty, road-tested approach. The Hoosiers are coming off a hard-fought 20-15 win at Iowa on Sept. 27, where quarterback Fernando Mendoza threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns while adding 26 yards on the ground.

Oregon, projected to win 39-22 by the same simulator, arrives with high-powered momentum after a dramatic 30-24 double-overtime victory at Penn State. Ducks quarterback Dante Moore was efficient in that win, completing 26 of 36 passes for 214 yards and a score.

The Hoosiers’ perfect start includes dominant home wins over Illinois and Indiana State, but they have yet to face an opponent of Oregon’s caliber in a hostile road environment. The Ducks have been explosive, averaging over 48 points per game behind Moore and a deep running back corps featuring Dierre Hill Jr. and Noah Whittington.

The matchup pits Indiana’s proven resilience against Oregon’s offensive firepower, with a spot in the top tier of the national rankings on the line. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PDT Saturday.
